Class Activity |
Homework |
| 9/9/08 | Scale Drawing of outside area | We talked about making scale drawings and the challenges of doing it outdoors. Then each student practiced making measurements of an outdoor area and identifying the location of important features in that area. Finally, we started to make scale drawings of each area, in preparation for a trip to the stream next week | Bring boots, gloves to school next Tuesday to go to the stream. |
| 9/16/08 | Off to the creek | ||
| 9/23/08 | Creating scale drawings and cross sections of the creek | We discussed scale drawings and how to create them. We looked at stream data, and then used it to create cross sections and sketches of each group's stream portion | Complete cross sections if necessary |
| 9/30/08 | Off to the creek again | ||
| 10/7/08 | CAMP !!!! | ||
| 10/14/08 | Linear Relationships - Representing data with tables and graphs | Students counted the number of jumping jacks that could be done in 2 minutes, collecting data every 10 seconds. This data was used to create a line graph of the data. | Practice drawing line graph worksheet. |
| 10/21/08 | Off to the Creek - Last time this fall | Students will be taking water quality measurements. Ask about the rubber duckies | |
|
10/28/08 |
Linear Relationships - Interpreting graphs and tables |
Students will explore the relationships between tables and graphs of
data, and discuss how the shape of a graph can be used to interpret a
situation.
